A permanent record of Irish obstacle sport
OCRA keeps the results of its own competitions, the Irish National Championships, qualification events, and Irish performances at international championships. A result should still be findable long after the day it was set.
Recent results
Each result identifies the athlete, their discipline, category and Age Group, their overall and category position, and their time or score. Where penalties applied, they are shown.
Official and provisional
Results are published as PROVISIONAL immediately after a competition, which
leaves room for corrections, protests and reviews. Once that window closes they
are confirmed as OFFICIAL.
Check which one you are looking at before treating a result as final.
Depending on the competition rules, a result may carry a classification instead of a time:
- DNS
- Did not start.
- DNF
- Did not finish.
- DNC
- Did not complete — finished the course, but without completing every obstacle to the standard the rules require.
- DSQ
- Disqualified.
Which of these applies, and what each one means for your placing, is set by the rules of the specific competition.
National Championship results
OCRA keeps a permanent record of Irish National Champions, along with silver and bronze medallists, and results by Age Group, by Elite category and by discipline.
Team Ireland results
Performances by athletes representing Ireland at international championships form part of Ireland's obstacle sport record, and are kept in both this archive and the Team Ireland section.
Archive
Historical results stay available by year and by event — OCRA competitions, National Championships, qualification events, and European and World Championships.
As the archive develops, an athlete will be able to see their own results across multiple competitions in one place.
Corrections
If you believe a result has been recorded incorrectly, tell us with the event, athlete, discipline, category and the result you want reviewed. Corrections are checked against the official competition records.
Rankings
Irish obstacle racing happens across many events and many organisers, which makes the season hard to see as a whole. A ranking is intended to connect those races into one picture, and give athletes a way to measure a year rather than a single race.
Which events will count
Not every event on this site will feed the rankings. Only events approved as OCRA Ranking Events will be eligible, and they will be labelled as such in the events calendar.
Likely to be eligible: OCRA-organised events, OCRA Sanctioned Events, Irish National Championships and OCRA Qualification Events.
How it will be structured
Rankings will be kept separately by discipline, category and Age Group, so that athletes are compared within a structure that makes sense rather than forcing 100m and Standard Course into one table.
When the methodology is published it will set out which events are eligible, how points are awarded, how many results count towards a total, whether National Championships carry extra weight, and how ties break.
Rankings and qualification
A ranking position may become part of selection in future, but only where the qualification criteria for a specific championship say so. At present none do.
Historical rankings
Once the system launches, final standings from each season stay available permanently — both as a record of how competitive OCR developed in Ireland, and as recognition for the athletes who led their categories.
